Sukta 7.60

Rishi: Vasiṣṭha (Vasiṣṭha Maitrāvaruṇi) (traditional ascription for Maṇḍala 7)

इमे मित्रो वरुणो दूळभासोऽचेतसं चिच्चितयन्ति दक्षैः । अपि क्रतुं सुचेतसं वतन्तस्तिरश्चिदंहः सुपथा नयन्ति ॥

imé mitró váruṇo dūḷábhāso ’cetásaṃ cic citayanti dákṣaiḥ | ápi krátum sucétasaṃ vátantas tiráś cid áṃhaḥ supáthā nayanti ||

These Mitra and Varuṇa, hard to assail, awaken even the unperceiving being by their powers of right-discrimination; shaping in us a will that is luminous in consciousness, they lead us by the good path beyond even the crookedness of sin and inner distress.
