सप्तनवतितमः सर्गः (Yuddha Kāṇḍa 97): Sugrīva’s Onslaught and the Fall of Virūpākṣa

सनदन्युधिसुग्रीवस्स्वरेणमहतामहान् ।पातयन्विविधांश्चान्यान्ञ्जगामोत्तमराक्षसान् ।।।।

vināśitaṃ prekṣya virūpanetraṃ mahābalaṃ taṃ haripārthivena |

balaṃ samastaṃ kapirākṣasānām unmatta-gaṅgā-pratimaṃ babhūva ||

Seeing mighty Virūpanetra destroyed by the vānara-king, the entire host of vānaras and rākṣasas surged into frenzy—like the Gaṅgā in wild flood.

Great Sugriva roaring at high pitch in war destroyed several other Rakshasas and went towards the best of Rakshasas.

Dharma is shown as the restoration of moral balance: the fall of a powerful oppressor shifts collective morale, demonstrating how adharma’s champions, once removed, weaken the unrighteous cause.

Virūpākṣa/Virūpanetra has been slain by Sugrīva; both armies react intensely, and the battlefield mood becomes turbulent and uncontrolled.

Sugrīva’s decisive leadership—his action changes the course of the engagement and strengthens dharmic momentum.
