Shloka 6.97.24

सप्तनवतितमः सर्गः (Yuddha Kāṇḍa 97): Sugrīva’s Onslaught and the Fall of Virūpākṣa

तेनखडगप्रहारेणरक्षसाबलिनाहतः ।मुहूर्तमभवद्वीरोविसंज्ञइववानरः ।।।।

tena khaḍgaprahāreṇa rakṣasā balinā hataḥ | muhūrtam abhavad vīro visaṃjña iva vānaraḥ ||

Struck by the sword-blow of that mighty Rākṣasa, the heroic Vānara was wounded and for a brief moment seemed as though unconscious.

Struck by the mighty Rakshasa with a sword, the Vanara leader, a heroic one, got wounded, and became unconscious for a while.

Steadfastness in righteous struggle: even a leader may be momentarily overcome, yet the duty of resistance against adharma is not abandoned.

In the battlefield duel, Virūpākṣa strikes Sugrīva with a sword, leaving him briefly dazed/unconscious.

Sugrīva’s vīratva (heroic resilience), shown by enduring a severe blow without the battle’s purpose being forsaken.
