इन्द्रजित्–लक्ष्मणयोर् घोरः शरयुद्धः (Indrajit and Lakshmana’s Fierce Exchange of Arrows)
लक्ष्मणोरावणिंयुद्धेरावणिश्चापिलक्ष्मणम् ।।6.89.38।।अन्योन्यंतावभिघ्नन्तौ न श्रमंप्रतिपद्यताम् ।
lakṣmaṇo rāvaṇiṃ yuddhe rāvaṇiś cāpi lakṣmaṇam |
anyonyaṃ tāv abhighnantau na śramaṃ pratipadyatām || 6.89.38 ||
In the battle Lakṣmaṇa struck at Rāvaṇi, and Rāvaṇi likewise struck at Lakṣmaṇa; as they assailed each other, neither of the two gave way to fatigue.
In the battle Lakshmana and Indrajith striking each other had not experienced fatigue.
Dharma is shown as unwavering commitment to one’s entrusted duty: Lakṣmaṇa persists without succumbing to exhaustion, modeling perseverance in service of a righteous mission.
The duel continues at high intensity; both fighters exchange blows relentlessly, with neither showing fatigue.
Vīrya (valor/energy) and dhṛti (endurance): sustained strength in the face of prolonged struggle.
