Shloka 6.84.4

निकुम्भिला-यज्ञविघ्नोपदेशः (Counsel to Disrupt the Nikumbhilā Rite)

राघवं च महात्मानमिक्ष्वाकुकुलनन्दनम् ।ददर्शमोहमापन्नंलक्ष्मणस्याङ्गमाश्रितम् ।।6.84.3।।

kathayantaṃ tu saumitriṃ sannivārya vibhīṣaṇaḥ |

puṣkalārtham idaṃ vākyaṃ visaṃjñaṃ rāmam abravīt ||

But Vibhīṣaṇa restrained Saumitrī as he began to speak, and addressed the unconscious Rāma with these words, rich in meaning.

He (Vibheeshana) saw the great soul, the delight of the Ikshvaku race deluded, distressed, and lying on the lap of Lakshmana.

Dharma includes disciplined speech and timely counsel—restraining unhelpful talk and offering guidance that restores right action.

As Lakṣmaṇa starts explaining, Vibhīṣaṇa intervenes and turns to address the unconscious Rāma with purposeful counsel.

Vibhīṣaṇa’s discernment (viveka) and restraint—he prioritizes what will help Rāma recover composure.
