युद्धकाण्डे अष्टमः सर्गः — राक्षससभा-युद्धपरामर्शः (War-Council Boasts and Stratagems)

रक्षांचैवविधास्यामिवानराद्रजनीचर ।नागमिष्यतितेदुःखंकिञ्चिदात्मापराधजम् ।।6.8.5।।

Transliteration

abravīc ca susaṅkṛddho durmukho nāma rākṣasaḥ |

idaṃ na kṣamaṇīyaṃ hi sarveṣāṃ naḥ pradharṣaṇam ||6.8.6||

Translation

Then the rākṣasa named Durmukha, inflamed with wrath, spoke: “This humiliation of all of us is not to be forgiven.”

"O night ranger (Ravana)! I will arrange the protection (of this Lanka) from these Vanaras. For your own wrong action (of abducting Sita) you cannot undergo suffering."
