युद्धकाण्डे अष्टमः सर्गः — राक्षससभा-युद्धपरामर्शः (War-Council Boasts and Stratagems)
किंवोहनुमताकार्यंकृपणेनतपस्विना ।रामेतिष्ठतिदुर्धर्षेससुग्रीवेऽपिसलक्ष्मणे ।।6.8.10।।
kiṃ vo hanumatā kāryaṃ kṛpaṇena tapasvinā | rāme tiṣṭhati durdharṣe sa sugrīve ’pi sa lakṣmaṇe ||
“What need have we to deal with Hanumān—wretched and helpless—when the unassailable Rāma stands there, along with Sugrīva and Lakṣmaṇa?”
"While unassailable Rama is there, along with Lakshmana and Sugriva, what have we to do with miserable, pitiable and helpless Hanuman?"
Dharma requires right discernment (viveka): counsel should be based on truth, not contempt; dismissing an opponent out of bias leads to strategic and moral error.
Prahastha argues about whom to confront, implying Hanumān is not worth attention compared to Rama and his chief allies.
