Shloka 6.76.74
युद्धे अङ्गद-मैन्द-द्विविद-राक्षसयुद्धम्; कुम्भस्य प्रादुर्भावः तथा सुग्रीवेण पराभवः (Sarga 76: Angada and the Vanara chiefs battle Kampana, Prajaṅgha, Yūpākṣa, Śoṇitākṣa; Kumbha enters and is checked by Sugrīva)
त्वामेवैकंमहाबाहुंचापहस्तमरिन्दमम् ।।6.76.73।।त्रिदशानातिवर्तन्तेजितेन्द्रियमिवाधयः ।विक्रमस्वमहाबुद्धे कर्माणिममपश्यतः ।।6.76.74।।
tvām evaikaṃ mahābāhuṃ cāpahastam arindamam | tridaśā nātivartante jitendriyam ivādhayaḥ | vikramasva mahābuddhe karmāṇi mama paśyataḥ ||
You alone, mighty-armed, bow in hand, subduer of foes, are one whom even the gods cannot surpass—just as afflictions cannot overpower a man who has mastered his senses. So, O keen-minded one, show me your valor and deeds!
"Oh! mightyarmed, Kumbha! wielding pike in hand, you are a tamer of enemies, you alone are the one that gods are not able to overcome, a pre eminent one who has gained over senses, highly intelligent, exhibiting your prowess and deeds before me."
It reiterates the dharmic valuation of self-control (jitendriya) as a higher power than mere force.
