Unfainting, fierce in wrath and grim, he longed for battle; he too desired to crush Laṅkā with his own troops.

As you are vanquished by the noble Vanaras you are frightened like this and thinking it is good to surrender Sita.

K
Kumuda

Laṅkā

When the cause is dharmic, courage and readiness to confront adharma are virtues; the verse frames battle-spirit as duty rather than cruelty for its own sake.

Kumuda’s temperament and intent are stated: he is eager for the coming war and confident in his own contingent.

Dhairya and utsāha: unwavering resolve and energetic willingness to act.
