सीतासान्त्वनम् / Hanuman Consoles Sita with the News of Victory
हिरण्यंवासुवर्णंवारत्नानिविविधानिच ।।6.116.20।।राज्यंवात्रिषुलोकेषुनैतदर्हतिभाषितम् ।
evam uktas tu vaidehyā pratyuvāca plavaṅgamaḥ | pragṛhītāñjalir harṣāt sītāyāḥ pramukhe sthitaḥ ||
Thus spoken to by Vaidehī, the monkey (Hanumān) replied with delight, standing before Sītā with hands joined in reverence.
"Neither gold or silver or gems, not even kingdom or the three worlds are equal to what you have spoken now."
Dharma is expressed as reverent conduct toward the virtuous: Hanumān maintains humility and respect even while being praised.
After Sītā’s praise and gratitude, Hanumān stands with folded hands and begins his reply.
