When your son Indrajit was struck down by Lakṣmaṇa in battle, then I was intensely wounded by grief; and today you too have fallen here, laid low.

"When my son Indrajith was killed by Lakshmana I was in intense grief. Now you have fallen."

It shows how adharma in leadership brings ruin not only to the doer but to the entire family; grief becomes the fruit of destructive choices.

Mandodarī recalls the earlier catastrophe—Indrajit’s death—and connects it to the final catastrophe of Rāvaṇa’s death.

Endurance amid sorrow: Mandodarī bears repeated losses and articulates the chain of events with emotional honesty.
