रावणस्य अन्त्येष्टिः — Ravana’s Funeral Rites and the Ethics of Post-War Conduct
न कुलेन न रूपेण न दाक्षिण्येनमैथिली ।मयाधिकावातुल्यावातत्त्वंमोहान्नबुध्यसे ।।।।
na kulena na rūpeṇa na dākṣiṇyena maithilī | mayā adhikā vā tulyā vā tat tvaṃ mohān na budhyase ||
Maithilī is neither superior to me nor equal to me in lineage, beauty, or courtesy; yet, blinded by infatuation, you did not perceive this truth.
"Mythili by race is not superior to me even a little, not in civility. Out of infatuation you did not perceive this."
It highlights the destruction caused by adharma in the form of unchecked desire (kama) and delusion (moha). Mandodari points out that Ravana abandoned the righteous path of being content with his own virtuous wife to pursue another, leading to his ruin.
Mandodari emphasizes these traits to show that she was a complete partner according to the standards of a noble wife (Dharmapatni). By ignoring these holistic virtues due to physical infatuation for Sita, Ravana failed to perceive the truth (Satya) of his own domestic reality.
