“I am not afraid; I am not foolish; I have not been won over by enemies. I am not negligent, nor devoid of loyalty; nor have I forgotten the good services done to me.”
"I was not fearing, nor foolish, not won by the enemy, not negligent also, not lacking friendliness and not forgetting good deeds done by you."
The dharmic ideal of integrity: one should act from duty and truth, not from fear, confusion, betrayal, or forgetfulness of received kindness.
The charioteer defends his decision-making and character after being harshly addressed by Rāvaṇa.
Steadfast loyalty joined with moral clarity—refusing both cowardice and treachery.
