लक्ष्मण-प्राणरक्षा: (Lakshmana’s Revival by the Herb-Mountain)

इत्येवंवदतस्तस्यराघवस्यमहात्मनः ।।।।भिन्नश्शिथिलयावाचालक्ष्मणोवाक्यमब्रवीत् ।

tāṃ pratijñāṃ pratijñāya purā satyaparākrama | laghuḥ kaścid ivāsattvo naivaṃ vaktum ihārhasi ||

O you of truth-founded valor—having earlier taken that vow—you should not speak like this now, as though you were some petty, spiritless man.

When Raghava had spoken in that manner, Lakshmana spoke, pained by the irresolute talk (of Rama).

Lakṣmaṇa
R
Rāma
P
Pratijñā (vow)

Dharma is steadfastness to one’s vow (pratijñā) grounded in satya; Lakṣmaṇa urges Rāma not to let grief undermine righteous commitment.

Lakṣmaṇa, revived, counsels Rāma against speaking in despair and reminds him of his earlier pledge and duty.

Lakṣmaṇa’s moral courage and commitment to satya-based resolve.
