लक्ष्मण-प्राणरक्षा: (Lakshmana’s Revival by the Herb-Mountain)

तांप्रतिज्ञांप्रतिज्ञायपुरासत्यपराक्रम ।।।।लघुःकश्चिदिवासत्त्वोनैवंवक्तुमिहार्हसि ।

śoṇitārdram imaṃ vīraṃ prāṇaiḥ priyataram mama | paśyato mama kā śaktir yoddhuṃ paryākulātmanaḥ ||

As I watch this hero—dearer to me than life itself—soaked in blood, my very mind is thrown into turmoil. How can I have the strength to fight?

"You who are of truthful valour having made a vow, now speaking in this way, like a lowly person is not appropriate."

Rāma
L
Lakṣmaṇa

Dharma is tested under sorrow; the verse shows how even the righteous can be shaken, and why inner steadiness is necessary to carry duty forward.

Before Lakṣmaṇa’s revival, Rāma laments seeing him bloodied and feels his will to fight collapse.

Rāma’s deep love and authenticity, alongside the implicit need for dhairya (fortitude) to uphold dharma in crisis.
