चूडामणि-दर्शनम् — Rama Receives Sita’s Token and Questions Hanuman
शारद स्तिमिरोन्मुक्तो नूनं चन्द्रं इवांबुधैः।आवृतं वदनं तस्या न विराजति राक्षसैः।।।।
ciraṃ jīvati vaidehī yadi māsaṃ dhariṣyati |
kṣaṇaṃ saumya na jīveyaṃ vinā tām asitekṣaṇām ||
If Vaidehī can endure for a month, that itself is a long time for her. But, dear one, I cannot live even for a moment without that dark-eyed lady.
"Her face resembling the autumnal Moon bereft of its stain, though covered with rain-clouds does not shine so bright.
Dharma is the unwavering commitment to one’s spouse and the moral urgency to protect the innocent; Rāma’s words underline that delay in righteous action can itself become adharma.
After hearing of Sītā’s condition in captivity, Rāma expresses both concern for her survival and his own inability to bear separation.
Single-minded fidelity (ekapatnī-niṣṭhā) and compassionate urgency.
