चूडामणि-दर्शनम् — Rama Receives Sita’s Token and Questions Hanuman
कथं सा मम सुश्रोणी भीरुभीरु स्सती सदा।भयावहानां घोराणां मध्ये तिष्ठति रक्षसाम्।।।।
maṇi-ratnam idaṃ dattaṃ vaidehyāḥ śvaśureṇa me |
vadhū-kāle yathābaddham adhikaṃ mūrdhni śobhate ||
This jewel was given to Vaidehī by my father-in-law; fastened upon her at the time of our marriage, it shone all the more upon her head.
"She is always very timid. How can my fair-hipped beloved remain in the midst of dreadful and fearsome demons?
Dharma is the sanctity of marriage and remembrance of lawful bonds: the ornament becomes a truthful witness to a righteous union and to Rāma’s duty to restore Sītā.
Rāma identifies the jewel and recalls its origin at the wedding, confirming it as Sītā’s and strengthening the credibility of Hanumān’s report.
