अङ्गद-प्रत्यागमनम् — Angada’s Return and the Confirmation of Sītā’s Discovery

अङ्गदे ह्यननुप्राप्ते सुग्रीवो वानराधिपः।उवाच शोकोपहतं रामं कमललोचनम्।।।।

aṅgade hy ananuprāpte sugrīvo vānarādhipaḥ | uvāca śokopahataṃ rāmaṃ kamalalocanam ||

Before Aṅgada had arrived, Sugrīva, lord of the vānaras, spoke to lotus-eyed Rāma, stricken with grief.

Seeing the grief-stricken, lotus-eyed Rama, the lord of the vanaras Sugriva said this before the arrival of Angada:

A
Angada
S
Sugriva
R
Rama

Dharma includes compassionate responsibility: a leader and ally responds to another’s grief with timely counsel and truthful support.

As Rama waits anxiously, Sugriva addresses him even before Angada returns, marking a transition to the next spoken exchange.

Empathy and attentive leadership—Sugriva does not ignore Rama’s sorrow.
