दधिमुख-विज्ञापनम् / Dadhimukha Reports the Madhuvana Incident
नैषामकृत्यानामीदृशस्स्यादुपक्रमः।।।।आगतैश्च प्रमथितं यथा मधुवनं हि तैः।धर्षितं च वनं कृत्स्नमुपयुक्तं च वानरैः।।।।
uttiṣṭhottiṣṭha kasmāt tvaṃ pādayoḥ patito mama | abhayaṃ te bhaved vīra sarvam evābhidhīyatām ||
Rise, rise—why have you fallen at my feet? Be fearless, O brave one; tell me everything, just as it is.
"Those vanaras having entered Madhuvanam and broken the trees are quite right. Had they not accomplished their purpose they would not have indulged themselves that way.
A leader practicing dharma first removes fear and guarantees safety, so that truth can be spoken without coercion.
Dadhimukha arrives distressed and falls at Lakṣmaṇa’s feet; Lakṣmaṇa raises him and asks for a full report, offering protection.
Lakṣmaṇa’s righteous authority and compassion—he ensures security and invites truthful disclosure.
