मधुवनभङ्गः — The Disruption of Madhuvana and Dadhimukha’s Complaint
पूजयित्वाङ्गदं सर्वे वानरा वानरर्षभम्।।5.62.5।।जग्मुर्मधुवनं यत्र नदीवेग इव द्रुमम्।
sannipatya mahāvīryaḥ sarvais taiḥ parivāritaḥ | harir dadhimukhaḥ pālaiḥ pālānāṃ parameśvaraḥ ||
sa dīnavadano bhūtvā kṛtvā śirasi cāñjalim | sugrīvasya śubhau mūrdhnā caraṇau paty apīḍayat ||
There gathered the mighty Dadhimukha, lord of the guards, surrounded by all those guardians. With a sorrowful face, he lifted his folded hands to his head and, in reverent obeisance, pressed Sugrīva’s auspicious feet with his forehead.
The vanaras praised Angada, the bull among vanaras and went to Madhuvanam swiftly like a fast-flowing river going to uproot a tree.
Humility before rightful authority: grievances are presented with respect, acknowledging the ruler’s role as final arbiter of justice.
Dadhimukha arrives with the guards and formally prostrates before Sugrīva to submit his complaint about Madhuvana.
Dadhimukha’s disciplined deference and loyalty to the king’s order, expressed through formal obeisance.
