सुन्दरकाण्डे अष्टपञ्चाशः सर्गः — हनुमद्वृत्तान्तकथनम्, सीताभिज्ञान-प्रदानम्, लङ्कादाह-वर्णनम्
ततो रावणदाराश्च रावणश्च महाबलः।तं देशं समनुप्राप्ता यत्र सीताऽभवत् स्थिता।।।।
tato rāvaṇadārāś ca rāvaṇaś ca mahābalaḥ |
taṃ deśaṃ samanuprāptā yatra sītā 'bhavat sthitā ||
Then the mighty Rāvaṇa, along with his women, came to that very spot where Sītā was staying.
"Then arrived the powerful Ravana with his consorts to that place where Sita was and stood there.
The verse sets up the ethical conflict: power approaching the powerless. It frames Rāvaṇa’s misuse of strength as adharma, against which Rāma’s rescue stands as dharma-restoration.
Rāvaṇa and his consorts arrive at the place of Sītā’s confinement, intensifying the danger as Hanumān watches in hiding.
Hanumān’s composure under threat—he remains concealed to ensure truthful observation and effective intervention later.
