सुन्दरकाण्डे अष्टपञ्चाशः सर्गः — हनुमद्वृत्तान्तकथनम्, सीताभिज्ञान-प्रदानम्, लङ्कादाह-वर्णनम्
तत स्सीतामपश्यंस्तु रावणस्य निवेशने।शोकसागरमासाद्य न पारमुपलक्षये।।।।
tataḥ s-sītām apaśyaṃs tu rāvaṇasya niveśane |
śoka-sāgaram āsādya na pāram upalakṣaye ||
Then, not finding Sītā in Rāvaṇa’s residence, I fell into an ocean of sorrow and could not discern its far shore—no end in sight.
"Not able to find Sita at the residence of Ravana I was immersed in an ocean of endless sorrow and did not know what to do.
Acknowledging sorrow without surrendering to it: dharma allows grief, yet demands renewed clarity and continued righteous action.
After an unsuccessful search within Rāvaṇa’s residence, Hanumān experiences profound despair, described as an ocean without a visible shore.
Mānasika-bala (inner strength): the capacity to endure despair and still continue the mission.
