सुन्दरकाण्डे अष्टपञ्चाशः सर्गः — हनुमद्वृत्तान्तकथनम्, सीताभिज्ञान-प्रदानम्, लङ्कादाह-वर्णनम्
दृष्ट्वा सम्भाषितश्चाहं रावणेन दुरात्मना।।।।पृष्टश्च लङ्कागमनं राक्षसानां च तं वधम्।
tatsarvaṃ ca mayā tatra sītārtham iti jalpitam | asyāhaṃ darśanākāṅkṣī prāptas tvad-bhavanaṃ vibho | mārutasyaurasaḥ putro vānaro hanumān aham ||5.58.132||
There I stated everything plainly: “It was for Sītā’s sake. Desiring to see her, I have come to your palace, O lord. I am Hanumān, a vāṇara—the true-born son of Māruta.”
"The wicked-minded Ravana, then enquired me why I came to Lanka and why I killed the demons.
Dūta-dharma grounded in satya: Hanumān openly declares his purpose (for Sītā) and his identity, embodying truthful speech even in an enemy court.
Before Rāvaṇa, Hanumān explains that his actions were undertaken for Sītā and introduces himself as Hanumān, son of Māruta.
