हनूमदुपदेशः रावणस्य च कोपः (Hanuman’s Counsel to Ravana and Ravana’s Wrath)
अपकुर्वन् हि रामस्य साक्षादपि पुरन्दरः।।।।न सुखं प्राप्नुयादन्यः किं पुनस्त्वद्विधो जनः।
apakurvan hi rāmasya sākṣād api purandaraḥ; na sukhaṃ prāpnuyād anyaḥ, kiṃ punas tvadvidho janaḥ.
Even Purandara (Indra), were he to offend Rāma face to face, would not attain happiness—how much less someone of your kind.
"Indra, the destroyer of enemy citadels cannot live happily if he offends Rama. What to speak of persons like you?
Adharma brings inevitable unrest: even the mighty cannot prosper when they violate righteousness by opposing a dharmic person.
Hanuman heightens the warning by stating that offending Rama has consequences so severe that even Indra would not remain happy—thereby urging Ravana to reconsider.
Rama’s moral inviolability: his dharmic standing is portrayed as a force that even gods must respect.
