अभिज्ञानमणि-प्रदानम् — The Signet Jewel as Proof and the Consolation of Sita
तदस्मिन्कार्यनिर्योगे वीरैवं दुरतिक्रमे।किं पश्यसि समाधानं त्वं हि कार्यविदां वरः।।।।
tad asmin kāryaniryoge vīra evaṃ duratikrame | kiṃ paśyasi samādhānaṃ tvaṃ hi kāryavidāṃ varaḥ ||
So, in this undertaking—so difficult to carry through—what solution do you foresee, O hero? For you are foremost among those who understand how to get things done.
"What means do you, being the foremost hero among the three who are capable performing this difficult task, foresee?
Dharma values wise counsel and competent agency: Sītā seeks a truthful, workable plan from the most capable messenger rather than clinging to mere sentiment.
Facing the obstacle of the ocean and the urgency of rescue, Sītā asks Hanumān to propose a practical resolution.
Hanumān’s reputation for effective action (kārya-kauśala) is highlighted—competence as a form of service to dharma.
