सीताप्रत्यय-प्रदानम् (Sita’s Recognition and Reassurance by the Envoy)
सीताया वचनं श्रुत्वा मारुतिर्भीमविक्रमः।शिरस्यञ्जलिमाधाय वाक्यमुत्तरमब्रवीत्।।।।
sītāyā vacanaṁ śrutvā mārutir bhīmavikramaḥ | śirasy añjalim ādhāya vākyam uttaram abravīt ||
Hearing Sītā’s words, Māruti—of formidable prowess—placed his joined palms upon his head in reverence and spoke his reply.
Having heard Sita, Hanuman endowed with fearsome power placed his folded hands on his head and said this:
Dharma is reverence and proper conduct: Hanumān’s respectful gesture models humility and disciplined behavior toward a virtuous elder/queen.
After Sītā finishes speaking, Hanumān prepares to respond formally and respectfully.
Hanumān’s humility and service-mindedness—power is paired with reverence and self-control.
