रामलक्षणवर्णनम् (Description of Rama and Lakshmana; Alliance Narrative to Sita)
विश्वासार्थं तु वैदेहि भर्तुरुक्ता मया गुणाः।अचिराद्राघवो देवि त्वामितो नयिताऽनघे।।।।
viśvāsārthaṃ tu vaidehi bhartur uktā mayā guṇāḥ | acirād rāghavo devi tvām ito nayitā anaghe ||
O Vaidehi, it was to win your trust that I spoke of your husband’s virtues. Very soon, O blameless queen, Rāghava will lead you away from here.
"In order to inspire confidence in you about me I have narrated the virtues of your husband. O sinless queen! Rama will take you from here very soon".
Dharma in communication: a messenger must speak truthfully and in a way that builds rightful confidence, reducing fear and confusion without manipulation.
After giving identifying details and praising Rama, Hanuman explains his purpose—establishing trust—and promises imminent rescue.
Hanuman’s reliability as a dūta (envoy): truthful speech, clarity of intent, and compassionate reassurance.
