ahaṃ rāmasya sandeśād devi dūtas tavāgataḥ | vaidehi kuśalī rāmas tvāṃ ca kauśalam abravīt ||
O queen—Vaidehī—I have come to you as your messenger, by Rāma’s command. Rāma is safe and well, and he has spoken blessings for your welfare too.
"By the command of Rama I am here as a messenger. He is keeping well. He is well and wishes you well.
Dharma is faithful service and truthful speech: Hanumān identifies himself plainly as dūta (envoy) and conveys Rāma’s well-being and concern without deception.
After approaching Sītā in Aśoka-vana, Hanumān formally declares his mission: he is sent by Rāma and brings reassurance of Rāma’s safety and care.
Hanumān’s loyalty and reliability as a messenger—precision, honesty, and compassion in delivering a message meant to revive hope.
