सीताहनूमद्भाषणम् — Sita Tests the Messenger; Hanuman Offers Reassurance
यो ब्रह्ममस्त्रं वेदांश्च वेद वेदविदांवरः।स त्वां दाशरथी रामो देवि कौशलमब्रवीत्।।।।
yo brahmāstraṃ vedāṃś ca veda vedavidāṃ varaḥ ।
sa tvāṃ dāśarathī rāmo devi kauśalam abravīt ॥
O noble lady! Rāma, Daśaratha’s son—foremost among the knowers of the Vedas and skilled in the Brahmāstra—has asked after your welfare.
"O god-like lady! Rama, son of Dasaratha, master of the Vedas, wielder of Brahmastra wishes you well.
Faithful transmission of truth: a messenger (dūta) conveys the sender’s genuine concern and welfare-inquiry without distortion.
Hanumān begins delivering Rāma’s credentials and message, establishing authenticity and goodwill toward Sītā.
Rāma’s learned righteousness and competence—Vedic mastery and martial capability—paired with compassionate concern for Sītā.
