सीताहनूमद्भाषणम् — Sita Tests the Messenger; Hanuman Offers Reassurance

तं दृष्ट्वा वन्दमानं तु सीता शशिनिभानना।।।।अब्रवीद्धीर्घमुच्छवस्य वानरं मधुरस्वरा।

taṃ dṛṣṭvā vandamānaṃ tu sītā śaśinibhānanā |

abravīd dīrgham ucchvasya vānaraṃ madhura-svarā |

Seeing him bowing, Sītā—moon-faced—sighed deeply and then spoke to the monkey in a gentle, sweet voice.

On seeing the vanara prostrated, the moon-faced lady, sighed deeply and spoke to him in a sweet voice:

S
Sītā
H
Hanumān

Even in fear, dharma is expressed through measured, non-harsh speech—responding without cruelty and seeking clarity before judgment.

Sītā, still anxious, begins to address Hanumān after observing his respectful bow.

Sītā’s self-control and dignity—gentleness without naïveté.
