हनूमत्सीतासंवादः (Hanumān–Sītā Dialogue and Identity Verification)

द्वौ मासौ तेन मे कालो जीवितानुग्रहः कृतः।।।।ऊर्ध्वं द्वाभ्यां तु मासाभ्यां ततस्तक्ष्यामि जीवितम्।

dvau māsau tena me kālo jīvitānugrahaḥ kṛtaḥ | ūrdhvaṃ dvābhyāṃ tu māsābhyāṃ tatas tyakṣyāmi jīvitam ||

By him, a reprieve of life for me has been granted for two months; once those two months pass, then I shall give up my life.

"He has allowed me two months time to live. After two months I will have to give up my life."ityārṣē śrīmadrāmāyaṇē vālmīkīya ādikāvyē sundarakāṇḍē trayastriṅśassargaḥ৷৷Thus ends the thirtythird sarga of Sundarakanda of the holy Ramayana, the first epic composed by sage Valmiki.

S
Sītā
R
Rāvaṇa (implied by 'tena')
T
two months (deadline)

Truthful testimony under oppression: Sītā states the coercive deadline, underscoring that dharma may require steadfast refusal of wrongdoing even at the cost of life.

Sītā informs Hanumān of Rāvaṇa’s ultimatum: she has only two months before she expects death (by force or by her own resolve).

Moral firmness—Sītā’s unyielding refusal to submit to adharma, even when threatened with death.
