हनूमत्सीतासंवादः (Hanumān–Sītā Dialogue and Identity Verification)

साहं तस्याग्रतस्तूर्णं प्रस्थिता वनचारिणी।।।।न हि मे तेन हीनाया वासस्स्वर्गेऽपि रोचते।

sāhaṃ tasyāgratas tūrṇaṃ prasthitā vanacāriṇī | na hi me tena hīnāyā vāsaḥ svarge 'pi rocate ||

I myself, choosing the life of the forest, quickly set out ahead of him; for, separated from him, even dwelling in heaven holds no joy for me.

"I, however resolved to live in the forest, marched ahead of him quickly as I did not prefer even heaven without him.

S
Sītā

svarga (heaven)

The verse highlights steadfast marital fidelity (pativratā-dharma): Sītā’s righteousness is expressed as unwavering commitment to Rāma, valuing dharmic companionship above personal comfort or even heavenly pleasures.

While speaking to Hanumān in Laṅkā, Sītā recounts her past: she chose to accompany Rāma into forest exile, indicating her devotion and the legitimacy of her bond.

Loyalty and constancy in love grounded in dharma—Sītā’s resolve to share Rāma’s hardships and her inability to find joy without him.
