सुन्दरकाण्डे एकत्रिंशः सर्गः — Hanuman’s Sweet Address to Sita and Sita’s Recognition
निशम्य सीता वचनं कपेश्च दिशश्च सर्वाः प्रदिशश्च वीक्ष्य।स्वयं प्रहर्षं परमं जगाम सर्वात्मना राममनुस्मरन्ती ।।।।
tatas sā vakrakeśāntā sukeśī keśasaṃvṛtam |
unnamya vadanaṃ bhīruḥ śiṃśupāvṛkṣam aikṣata ||
Then that timid lady, with lovely hair curling at its ends, lifted her face—veiled by her tresses—and looked toward the śiṃśupā tree.
On hearing Hanuman's words Sita looked at all directions and quarters while quietly contemplating on Rama, the self of all and experienced supreme joy.
Dharma here is inner steadiness under suffering: Sītā remains cautious and composed, not reckless, even when hope arises.
After hearing the reassuring words, Sītā carefully looks up toward the śiṃśupā tree, searching for the speaker.
