Sita’s Lament and Prophecy of Lanka’s Ruin

But as for that cruel and base Rāvaṇa: the time he appointed for me has now arrived; and the death he ordained for me will not rest on me alone—it will fall upon that wicked one.

"If the heroic Rama of bloodshot eyes comes to know that I am here at Ravana's, the expiry of time limit fixed by this cruel, lowly, foolish Ravana has arrived, this wicked fellow's death is inevitable.

Adharma carries its own punishment: coercion and cruelty may set terms for the innocent, but dharma ensures the wrongdoer ultimately becomes the bearer of the consequence.

Sītā reflects on the ultimatum Rāvaṇa has imposed and interprets the passing of that deadline as the moment when Rāvaṇa’s destruction becomes certain.

Sītā’s satya-niṣṭhā (steadfastness to truth) and moral clarity: even in despair she frames events through dharma and inevitable justice.
