When Rāghava was off his guard, I—crying out—was tormented and forcibly carried away by Rāvaṇa, the shape-shifting rākṣasa.
"When Rama was engaged (in deer hunt) and I was screaming, I was brought forciblyby Ravana who can assume any form at his will.
The verse highlights adharma: coercion, deceit, and violation of another’s marriage are condemned; force cannot create legitimate right.
Sītā recalls how Rāvaṇa abducted her by force while she cried out, emphasizing the violent and deceptive nature of the act.
Sītā’s satya (truthfulness) and integrity: she bears witness to injustice without distorting events, grounding her suffering in factual truth.
