There the wind bore many kinds of fragrance—cool sandalwood, the sweet scent of wines, garlands of many sorts, and incense of diverse kinds—spreading their aroma throughout that place.

With the many scents of cool sandal, of sweet-smelling wines of diverse kinds, as well as flower garlands of several types and of incense burning in that hall, the cool wind blew spreading several fragrances all over.

The verse frames sensory richness as background; dharma is implied in the seeker’s ability to remain untempted and true to purpose amid alluring scents and comforts.

As Hanumān searches, the hall’s atmosphere is described through fragrances carried by the wind—sandal, wine, garlands, and incense.

Single-mindedness (ekāgratā): Hanumān continues his task without being diverted by pleasure.
