रावणान्तःपुरे शयनदर्शनम् (Hanumān Observes Rāvaṇa’s Inner Apartments and Sleeping Court)

अन्या कमलपत्राक्षी पूर्णेन्दुसदृशानना।अन्यामालिङ्ग्य सुश्रोणीं प्रसुप्ता मदविह्वला।।।।

Another woman, lotus-petal-eyed and full-moon-faced, embraced a woman of lovely hips and slept, drowsy and unsteady from intoxication.

One woman with eyes like lotus petals and face like the full-moon embraced another young woman of beautiful hips and slept tipsy with drink.

The contrast is ethical: indulgence and intoxication are shown as distractions, while Hanuman’s dharma is to remain clear-minded and faithful to his task.

Hanuman observes the harem-like quarters where women sleep in various postures, continuing his careful identification process.

Moral clarity and discernment (viveka): Hanuman must distinguish appearances from truth while searching for Sita.
