समुद्रलङ्घनारम्भः — Commencement of the Ocean-Crossing
समाक्षिप्तोऽस्मि सहसा पङ्गूकृतपराक्रमः।प्रतिलोमेन वातेन महानौरिव सागरे।।।।
samākṣipto 'smi sahasā paṅgūkṛtaparākramaḥ |
pratilomena vātena mahānaur iva sāgare ||
“I have been seized all at once, my power of movement crippled—like a great ship upon the ocean checked by a wind blowing against it.”
"I am caught suddenly. I am handicapped.I am like a huge ship in an ocean retarded by the wind blowing from the opposite direction.
Truthful self-assessment (satya toward oneself) supports dharma: recognizing a constraint accurately is the first step to overcoming it responsibly.
Hanuman feels his forward motion abruptly impeded and identifies it as an external force, likening it to a ship stalled by contrary wind.
Prājñatā (practical wisdom): he diagnoses the problem clearly instead of denying it.
