अङ्गद-उपदेशः — Hanuman’s Counsel to Angada on Succession and Strategy
त्वं समर्थतरः पित्रा युद्धे तारेय वै धुरम्।दृढं धारयितुं शक्तः कपिराज्यं यथा पिता।।।।
tvaṁ samarthataraḥ pitrā yuddhe tāreya vai dhuram |
dṛḍhaṁ dhārayituṁ śaktaḥ kapirājyaṁ yathā pitā ||
O son of Tārā, you are indeed more capable than your father in battle, and you are strong enough to bear firmly the burden of the monkey-kingdom, just as your father did.
'O Son of Tara! you are, indeed, very efficient like your father in combat. You can hold firmly the responsibilty of the vanara kingdom like your father.
It highlights rājadharma—fitness to bear the responsibility (dhura) of governance with firmness, as a rightful heir should uphold the kingdom’s order and welfare.
By affirming Angada’s capability and rightful role, the speaker frames leadership as grounded in truthful recognition of merit and duty, not mere power or favoritism.
