मैत्रीप्रतिष्ठा (Rama–Sugriva Alliance and Fire-Rite of Friendship)
भवान्धर्मविनीतश्च विक्रान्तस्सर्ववत्सलः।आख्याता वायुपुत्रेण तत्त्वतो मे भवद्गुणाः4.5.10।।
bhavān dharmavinītaś ca vikrāntaḥ sarvavatsalaḥ | ākhyātā vāyuputreṇa tattvato me bhavadguṇāḥ ||
You are disciplined in dharma, valiant, and affectionate to all. The Wind-god’s son has truthfully described your virtues to me.
'You are a great hero, affectionate to all and well-versed in all dharmas. The son of theWind-god has, in fact, apprised me of your virtues;
Dharma is portrayed as cultivated character—discipline in righteousness joined with compassion; Satya appears in the truthful testimony of Hanumān.
Sugrīva acknowledges Rāma’s virtues and notes that Hanumān has accurately reported them, strengthening trust for alliance.
Rāma’s dharmic conduct and universal goodwill (sarvavatsalatā), validated through truthful witness.
