एकोनपञ्चाशः सर्गः (Sarga 49) — Aṅgada Re-energizes the Southern Search Party
तस्याग्रमधिरूढास्ते श्रान्ता विपुलविक्रमाः।न पश्यन्ति स्म वैदेहीं रामस्य महिषीं प्रियाम्।।।।
tasyāgram adhirūḍhās te śrāntā vipulavikramāḥ | na paśyanti sma vaidehīṃ rāmasya mahiṣīṃ priyām ||
Even after reaching its summit, those mighty heroes—now exhausted—still did not see Vaidehī, Rāma’s beloved queen.
Even after scaling up the peak, the exhausted, heroic monkeys could not find Vaidehi, the dear queen of Rama.
Truthfulness about outcomes: despite great effort, they acknowledge the reality—Sītā is still not found—without self-deception.
After surveying from a peak, the searchers fail to spot Sītā.
