सुग्रीवस्य शतवलि-प्रेषणम् (Sugriva’s Commission to Satavali for the Northern Search)

स तु देशो विसूर्योऽपि तस्य भासा प्रकाशते।सूर्यलक्ष्म्याऽभिविज्ञेयस्तपतेव विवस्वता।।।।

Transliteration

sa tu deśo visūryo 'pi tasya bhāsā prakāśate |

sūryalakṣmyā 'bhivijñeyas tapateva vivasvatā ||

Translation

That land, though devoid of the sun, shines by its own radiance—discernible as if endowed with the sun’s splendor, as though warmed by the Sun himself.
