Shloka 4.43.50

सुग्रीवस्य शतवलि-प्रेषणम् (Sugriva’s Commission to Satavali for the Northern Search)

पानानि च महार्हाणि भक्ष्याणि विविधानि च।स्त्रियश्च गुणसम्पन्ना रूपयौवनलक्षिताः।।।।

pānāni ca mahārhāṇi bhakṣyāṇi vividhāni ca |

striyaś ca guṇasampannā rūpayauvanalakṣitāḥ ||

There are choice drinks and many kinds of foods; and women as well—endowed with virtues, and distinguished by beauty and youth.

'Some trees bring forth many good quality drinks, eatables and also virtuous women, young and beautiful.

The verse implicitly warns that abundance and pleasure can distract seekers; dharma requires staying focused on the righteous mission despite alluring comforts.

Sugrīva describes the northern regions the vānaras may encounter while searching for Sītā, including their extraordinary enjoyments.
