When this undertaking is brought to completion—when the task dear to Rāma, the son of Daśaratha, is accomplished—then we shall be freed from our debt of gratitude and counted among those who truly succeed and know what is worth pursuing.

'We should be succeessful in our endeavour when we have completed the task dear to Rama. We will be redeemed of our debt to him.

Dharma here is kṛtajñatā—recognizing a benefactor and repaying that obligation through right action. Completing Rāma’s mission is framed as moral repayment, not merely success.

Sugrīva is instructing and motivating the search teams dispatched to find Sītā, emphasizing that fulfilling Rāma’s purpose completes their duty.

Gratitude joined with steadfast responsibility—acting faithfully until the promised task is fully accomplished.
