Search everywhere in the mighty northern quarter—adorned, as it were, with the Himālaya like an ear-ornament—for Sītā, the blameless wife of Rāma.

'There on Mainaka a demon, called Maya has built a mansion all by himself. Try to look in the plain lands, ridges and deep caves of Mainaka and in the residences of kinnera women with faces of horses.

R
Rāma
S
Sītā
H
Himālaya (Himaśaila)

Dharma here is faithful execution of entrusted duty: the searchers must act with full effort and thoroughness to help restore justice for Rāma and Sītā.

Sugrīva assigns vānara forces to different directions and instructs the northern party to search widely for Sītā.

Sugrīva’s leadership and responsibility—giving clear, purposeful direction in service of truth and righteousness.
