सुग्रीवस्य शतवलि-प्रेषणम् (Sugriva’s Commission to Satavali for the Northern Search)
तमतिक्रम्य शैलेन्द्रं हेमगर्भं महागिरिम्।ततस्सुदर्शनं नाम गन्तुमर्हथ पर्वतम्।।।।
mahatsu tasya śailasya nirdareṣu guhāsu ca |
vicinudhvaṃ mahā-bhāgāṃ rāma-patnīṃ tatas tataḥ ||4.43.16||
Search everywhere for that noble lady, Rāma’s wife—within the great mountain’s ravines and in its caves.
'Crossing this lord of hills filled with gold, you should reach the great mountain called Sudarsana.
Dharma as protective responsibility: those who serve Rāma must exert themselves to rescue the innocent, searching even perilous places.
Sugrīva directs the vānaras to inspect difficult mountain terrain—ravines and caves—where Sītā might be hidden.
Courage and compassion—braving danger for the sake of the wronged and abducted.
