Search everywhere—among thickets of lodhra and lotus-groves, and within forests of deodāra—for Rāvaṇa together with Vaidehī (Sītā), here and there.

'Then go and explore the hermitage of Soma inhabited by gods and gandharvas and also the great summits of mount Kala.

Dharma is faithful service to a just cause: the search must be comprehensive, extending even into dense and remote forests.

Sugrīva gives terrain-specific instructions—where to look for signs of Rāvaṇa and Sītā in forested regions.

Diligence (udyoga) and thoroughness—leaving no likely place unexamined.
