Shloka 4.43.11

सुग्रीवस्य शतवलि-प्रेषणम् (Sugriva’s Commission to Satavali for the Northern Search)

तत्र म्लेच्छान्पुलिन्दांश्च शूरसेनांस्तथैव च।प्रस्थलान्भरतांश्चैव कुरूंश्च सह मद्रकैः।।।।काम्बोजान्यवनां श्चैव शकानारट्टकानपि।बाह्लीकानृषिकां श्चैव पौरवानथ टङ्कणान्।।।।चीनान्परमचीनांश्च नीहारांश्च पुनः पुनः।अन्विष्यदरदांश्चैव हिमवन्तं तथैव च।।।।

tatra mlēcchān pulindāṁś ca śūrasenāṁs tathaiva ca |

prasthalān bharatāṁś caiva kurūṁś ca saha madrakaiḥ ||

kāmbojān yavanāṁś caiva śakān āraṭṭakān api |

bāhlīkān ṛṣikāṁś caiva pauravān atha ṭaṅkaṇān ||

cīnān paramacīnāṁś ca nīhārāṁś ca punaḥ punaḥ |

anviṣya daradāṁś caiva himavantaṁ tathaiva ca ||

There, search among the Mlecchas and the Pulindas, and likewise among the Śūrasenas; among the Prasthalas and the Bharatas, and also among the Kurus together with the Madrakas. Search among the Kāmbojas and the Yavanas as well, and among the Śakas and the Āraṭṭakas; among the Bāhlīkas and the Ṛṣikas, and among the Pauravas and then the Ṭaṅkaṇas. Search again and again among the Cīnas and the Parama-Cīnas, and among the Nīhāras; and search also among the Daradas and likewise in the Himavant (Himalaya) region.

'Search in the countries of Mlechas, Pulindas, Surasenas, Prasthalas, Bharatas, Madrakas, Kurus, Kambojas and even Yavanas, Shakas, Rattakas, Bahlikas, Rishikas, Pauravas, Tankanas, Cheenas, Paramacheenas, Niharas, Daradas and in the Himalaya mountains again and again in order to find her.

It stresses the dharma of faithful service and disciplined effort: Sugriva directs the searchers to pursue their duty thoroughly, “again and again,” across many regions until Sita is found.

Satya appears as reliability in action: the search must match the truthful intent of the alliance with Rama—words of commitment are made true by exhaustive, honest effort and accurate reporting.
