Shloka 4.41.26

दक्षिणदिशि सीतान्वेषण-आदेशः (Commissioning the Southern Search for Sītā)

दक्षिणस्य समुद्रस्य मध्ये तस्य तु राक्षसी।।।।अङ्गारकेति विख्याता छायामाकृष्य भोजिनी।

dakṣiṇasya samudrasya madhye tasya tu rākṣasī |

aṅgāraketi vikhyātā chāyām ākṛṣya bhojinī |

In the midst of that southern sea is an ogress, famed as Aṅgārakā, who seizes a being’s shadow and devours them.

'In the midst of the southern sea is a famous ogress, Angaraka (also Simhika) by name who swallows humans by capturing them even by their shadows.

Dharma-guided action requires vigilance: pursuing a righteous goal does not remove dangers, so one must act wisely to protect the group and keep the mission intact.

Sugriva warns the searchers about a deadly sea-demoness who attacks by drawing in shadows.

Apramāda (alertness/non-negligence) while traveling for a righteous purpose.
