Shloka 4.40.66

पूर्वदिशि सीतामार्गण-नियोगः (Deployment to the Eastern Quarter for the Search of Sita)

शैलेषु तेषु सर्वेषु कन्दरेषु वनेषु च।।4.40.66।।ये च नोक्ता मया देशा विचेया तेषु जानकी।

śaileṣu teṣu sarveṣu kandareṣu vaneṣu ca || 4.40.66 ||

ye ca noktā mayā deśā viceyā teṣu jānakī |

Search for Jānakī everywhere in those mountains—through their caves and forests as well—and also in any regions I have not specifically named.

'You should look for Janaki everywhere -- on the mountains, in the lakes and in the places not indicated by me.

Dharma here is diligent duty: a seeker must not limit effort to only what is convenient or already specified, but must search comprehensively for the righteous goal.

Sugriva is instructing the search-party on how thoroughly they must look for Sītā, including unnamed and uncharted areas.

Thoroughness and perseverance in service—carrying out an entrusted mission without omissions.
